About Us

Values

  1. Mental health and wellness are essential to the development and realization of every person's full potential.
  2. Prevention and early intervention are the most humane and effective strategies for addressing mental illness.
  3. All human beings, whether they suffer from psychiatric disabilities or not, have equal worth and deserve equal treatment.
  4. Justice demands that every person has the right to full and equal participation in society and to the responsibilities that go with it-regardless of disability, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, economic status, or sexual orientation.
  5. All people should have equal access to a full array of appropriate, high quality, voluntary, community-based, consumer-guided, culturally sensitive health services, regardless of ability to pay.
  6. The full inclusion and involvement of consumers, family members, and diverse cultures is a core value of MHA-SF and is at the center of all MHA-SF goals and objectives.
  7. MHA-SF values the power of broad-based citizen action, collaboration and community partnerships.
